Company History
Lawrence Aviation was formed in 1991 by Larry Chambers.
Larry has been active in aviation since the 70's and recognized
the need for a responsible and reliable commercial air service
for the central interior of B.C.
Our services are very diversified and we continue to grow
and adapt to the requirements of our customers.
Flying Services
*Training:
We offer flight training from the basic Recreational Pilot Permit
all the way up to Commercial Pilot License on basic and advanced aircraft types.
*Commercial Charter:
We fly customers to many different locations ranging
from
Vancouver International Airport to the most remote logging camps.
We specialize in supporting the mining and logging operations in this area.
*Aerial Recognizance and survey Flying:
Our company has
had many years of experience working with
different government ministries on many different projects.
Forestry flying includes fire patrols, mapping of forest
resources
and many other forest related tasks.
We also fly for federal and provincial fisheries branches.
These flights include fish telemetry and monitoring of fishing activities.
Over the years we have gained a great deal of experience
doing
telemetry flight for the Ministry of Environment.
Since 1993 we have been flying biologists to remote locations
to study mainly Caribou and Big Horn Sheep.
To make flights easier and more cost effective all the telemetry aircraft have
an Omni-directional antenna, wings modified for low speed flight
and built in antenna switch boxes.
*safety:
The remote locations that many of our flights take us
require extra precautions.
Along with a very strict standard for weather conditions
and aircraft serviceability we have taken extra steps to ensure safety.
Our aircraft are continually flight watched by either the
Cariboo fire Centre or our company radio facilities.
In addition to this our C-182 has a Global Positioning System
(GPS) tracking system that automatically transmits our location
to a satellite / ground station every few minutes.
